BIS announces review of UK equity markets

1st July 2011

On 22 June 2011, Vince Cable MP, the Secretary of State for Business, announced a review into UK equity markets ('the Kay Review'), focusing on corporate governance, engagement between companies and investors and whether the current UK equity market structure encourages long-termism . The review will be carried out by Professor John Kay, a leading economist, and the report on the review is expected to be submitted by 2012.

For more on the specific topics being considered, please see the Kay Review's terms of reference.

The Quoted Companies Alliance will be looking at how to get involved in the review and will keep our members posted about any developments with the review.
