We would like to welcome James Batcheldor and Faisal Hamid to the Quoted Companies Alliance as Business Development Director and Business Development Manager respectively. Both will be working on new business and growing the Quoted Companies Alliance's membership.

Hayley Zeff will be returning from maternity leave to the Quoted Companies Alliance in August as Head of Membership, focusing on member services, benefits and sponsorship.

Visitors to committees in May and June included: David Wood, the Insititute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland to the Financial Reporting Committee; Ed Davey MP to the May Executive Committee; Claire Bury and Paula Boteanu of the European Commission to the Corporate Governance Committee; and Alexander Justham and Mark Teasdale of the Financial Services Authority to the June Executive Committee.

Events in May and June included: a Directors' Lunch Club with Marcus Stuttard of the LSE's AIM; a Fund Manager Lunch with Henrietta Marsh of Isis Equity Partners; a Directors' Lunch Club with Ben Griffiths of the Daily Mail; a Fund Manager Lunch with Andy Crossley of Peel Hunt; and two seminars - one on the Bribery Act and another on Corporate Governance.

In July, The Quoted Companies Alliance and HM Revenue and Customs are holding a joint roundtable to discuss why smaller quoted companies use share schemes and what they aim to achieve with them.

We have put in a number of consultation responses in recently on a wide range of topics, including the Takeover Panel Code's amendments, HM Treasury's early implementation of the Prospectus Directive amendments, and the Accounting Standard Board's exposure draft on the future of financial reporting.
