Policy Executive
REPORTING TO: Head of Policy
PURPOSE: To support the Quoted Companies Alliance’s work influencing policy and regulation
SALARY: £30,000

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and coordinate the work of the QCA’s eight policy committees (made up of business leaders and professionals, covering accounting, auditing and financial reporting; corporate governance; legal; primary markets; secondary markets; share schemes; tax; and investment)
- Contribute to the drafting of consultations in response to the UK Government, regulators and other industry bodies
- Monitor and research evolving regulatory issues and developments that affect quoted companies and the public equity markets
- Conduct desk-based research to support policy positions and data gathering
- Coordinate with our external public affairs team
- Communicate to the membership the organisation’s work and update them on policy positions and campaign progress through writing regular articles for newsletters and the website, etc.
- Assist the Policy team in wider campaigns and initiatives
- Contribute to the work of other departments such as marketing and events where needed
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience);
- At least a year’s professional experience in policy, public affairs, or research;
- Strong interest in financial services (experience is desirable but not essential);
- Great analytical skills and attention to detail;
- The ability to interpret and summarise complex and technical information;
- The ability to work with a broad range of individuals in the QCA’s membership;
- The ability to develop a concept and turn it into a finished offering;
- The ability to work as part of a team;
- Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience of using a CRM system; and
- An inquisitive mind.
OTHER:
This is a full-time position Monday-Friday (9.00am to 5.30pm). There may be instances though when you will be required to attend events and meetings which are held outside of office hours. We operate a hybrid system that allows for some remote working.
Please note that you must have indefinite leave to remain and right to work in the UK.
