We are thrilled to announce that one of the UK’s most decorated Olympians, Baroness Katherine Grainger, will be the special guest speaker at the QCA Annual Dinner this September.

As an elite rower, Katherine’s sporting achievements are unparalleled. She won five medals at consecutive summer Games, including a famous gold at London 2012. Her remarkable career also includes eight World Championship medals.

Since her competitive career ended, Katherine has chaired UK Sport, the high-performance agency which invests in the UK’s latest crop of Olympians and Paralympians. She has recently become Chair of the British Olympic Association.

In addition, having already been made a Dame in the 2017 New Years Honours List for services to rowing and charity, Katherine was awarded a life peerage and joins the House of Lords as a crossbencher.

Katherine brings a unique perspective on achieving sustained success, maintaining focus under pressure and leading effectively at the highest level.

The QCA Annual Dinner is our flagship social event, which this year takes place at the iconic British Museum. We look forward to welcoming company directors, their investors and advisers, senior politicians, regulators and the media to celebrate the achievements of growing companies on the UK public markets.

Katherine follows in the footsteps of recent guest speakers including the former Shadow Chancellor, Ed Balls, and Justin Webb from BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme.

“Katherine exemplifies the best of British and I’m delighted she will join us at the British Museum on September 11.

“It is our night to celebrate great British success, from the City of London to the companies supported by the UK’s capital markets that are based right across the country.

“In addition, this year we will also mark the 30th anniversary of AIM, which the forerunner organisation to the QCA worked hard to create.

“I’m sure our entrepreneurial members will savour Katherine’s stories of achieving sustained success. Her speech will cap a super evening – one which is already shaping up to be our biggest Annual Dinner in a decade.”

James Ashton, Chief Executive, QCA
