HM Treasury publishes consultation on the inclusion of growth market shares in ISAs

HM Treasury is seeking input from market participants on the inclusion of growth market shares, such as AIM and ISDX, in ISAs. The consultation does not focus on whether or not HM Treasury should do this, but instead how they will implement the change. The key issue is the definition of 'growth market shares' – in order to avoid breaking EU state aid rules, the definition must include shares on SME equity markets from across the European Economic Area (EEA). We encourage our members to respond to this consultation – the closing date is 8 May 2013 and the consultation is available on HM Treasury's website.
