We celebrated our 20th anniversary with 360 members of the small and mid-size quoted company community at our Annual Dinner on 12 September 2012.
Held at the Savoy Hotel in London, the event brought together company directors, advisors to the sector, market makers, regulators, policymakers, and more, to recognise the importance of the UK's small and mid-size quoted companies and the Quoted Companies Alliance's work. The dinner was sponsored by the London Stock Exchange, with Morningstrar and Aveva Group plc as supporting sponsors.
Speaking on the night, Alexander Justham, recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of the London Stock Exchange plc, spoke about the London Stock Exchange’s commitment to small and mid-size quoted companies and in helping them raise finance. He stated: “We are proud to support the Quoted Companies Alliance. Over the last twenty years, the organisation has been a champion of connecting innovative, ambitious small and mid-size companies with investors, helping companies finance growth, drive innovation and create jobs. This is a passion that London Stock Exchange shares, and together we will continue to do everything in our power to make investing in the UK’s SMEs more accessible.”
Our Chairman Fiona Kelsey also spoke at the event and emphasised the successes of the Quoted Companies Alliance over the past 20 years, but noted that more must be done to support the growth of small and mid-size quoted companies.
This year's dinner also featured a quiz , where tables competed by answering general knowledge questions throughout each course. The winning team, Table 14, received a bottle of sparkling wine each. We will post the final placings of all the tables shortly.
