The Quoted Companies Alliance (QCA), the representative body for the UK’s small and mid-cap quoted company sector, announces the new appointment of Gervais Williams to its Executive Committee.
One of the UK’s best-known asset managers, Gervais Williams is currently Managing Director at MAM Funds plc and has been an equity portfolio manager since 1985. His career includes five years with Throgmorton Investment Management (later part of the Framlington Group), three years with Thornton Investment Management (part of Dresdner Bank) and 17 years with Gartmore Group Ltd, where he was Head of UK Small Companies investing in UK smaller companies and Irish equities. He won Investor of the Year at the Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards in both 2008 and 2009.
Gervais Williams has been involved in the Quoted Companies Alliance for a number of years, speaking at its Fund Manager Lunch Programme and most recently at its Fund Manager Seminar – Q&A with the QCA: Top investors the questions you’ve always wanted to ask – in June 2010.
Gervais Williams comments on his appointment, effective from 8 March 2011: “I am delighted to be involved with the Quoted Companies Alliance as a director on its Executive Committee. The QCA’s role in promoting a strong and healthy small and mid-cap sector is particularly important to me and I look forward to continuing to support this aim.”
