The Quoted Companies Alliance, the representative body for the UK’s small and mid-size quoted company sector, announces its first conference – Engineering Growth for Small and Mid-Cap Companies – taking place on 27 June 2012 in London at the Grange St Paul's Hotel. Bringing together companies, investors, and advisers in the small and mid-cap sector, the conference will emphasise the important role these companies play in creating growth and employment in the UK.

This exclusive all-day event is a crucial diary date for participants in the sector. It will feature insights from authoritative speakers and discussions on vital new developments in funding, the financial markets and growth opportunities for companies, as well as the latest thinking on major subjects such as reporting and corporate governance.

Delegates will hear directly from specialist fund managers in the sector and have the chance to network with investors, market participants, policymakers and politicians. Executives will also benefit from this valuable opportunity to share experiences with other firms and tell their story to the business media. There is, simply, no comparable all-day session focused solely on small and mid-cap companies.

The keynote speaker, David Gauke MP, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, will open the day, providing insight into what actions the Government is taking to fuel growth for small and mid-cap companies. Other confirmed speakers include Dr. Kay Swinburne, MEP for Wales in Europe; Nadhim Zahawi MP, Conservative MP for Stratford on Avon and co-founder and former Chief Executive of YouGov plc; and Stephen Haddrill, Chief Executive of the Financial Reporting Council.

The Engineering Growth for Small and Mid-Cap Companies event is supported by leading professional firms in the small and mid-cap sector. Gold sponsors are accountants Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP and market makers Winterflood Securities Ltd. Silver sponsors are lawyers Hogan Lovells International LLP, registrars Capita Registrars Ltd and index provider FTSE International Ltd.

Tim Ward, Chief Executive of the Quoted Companies Alliance, comments: “The Quoted Companies Alliance conference uniquely focuses on the engines of growth – small and mid-cap quoted companies – and their potential to drive economic recovery in the UK. We are providing an excellent opportunity for the sector to come together, network, share experiences and influence policymakers to take action to help small and mid-cap companies grow.”
