Stuart is an equity capital markets specialist with over 25 years of experience. He is currently a Managing Director in the Global Capital Markets division at Canaccord Genuity and has previously held Co-CEO and Board positions (including PLC) at various firms. Over the last 25 years he has advised on numerous IPO’s, public market offers, secondary raises and other PLC activity including moves from AIM to Main (the first being in 2001) and Main to AIM. In addition to this Stuart has acted as an expert witness on market standards on several occasions in civil, criminal and regulatory proceedings and has a track record of advising investors and boards on shareholder activism.
James is the Chief Financial Officer of Breedon Group Plc an international supplier of heavy side construction materials listed on the Main Market of the LSE and a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. He was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Safe Harbour Holdings plc and Tyman plc.His early career was in investment banking with Citi and HSBC having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY.
James sits as the QCA’s representative on The Panel on Takeovers and Mergers and The Pre Emption Group.
James Ashton is Chief Executive of the Quoted Companies Alliance, the members’ organisation that champions small and mid-sized companies whose shares are publicly traded. James was City Editor and Executive Editor of the Evening Standard and Independent titles and before that City Editor of the Sunday Times. He is the author of several business books and chairs Oscar’s Book Prize, the annual search for the UK’s best picture book. James is also a non-executive director of Finsbury Growth & Income, the FTSE 250 investment trust.
