Our Corporate Governance Expert Group advised on our response to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills' informal call for evidence on the European Commission's proposals on non-financial information, which would require disclosures on diversity, environment, bribery and more in a company's management report or on its website. We noted that the scope included in European Commission’s proposals (ie that these disclosures only be mandatory for large private or quoted companies) should be encouraged as it recognises that a one-size-fits-all approach in terms of regulation is not always appropriate.
