The Quoted Companies Alliance Corporate Governance Committee examined this consultation from the European Commission on the EU's corporate governance framework. We stressed the importance of a principles-based approach to corporate governance, rather than a rules-based one, while recognising that there were areas of the comply or explain model that could be further reinforced.
