We responded to the European Commission Public Consultation on the Small Business Act: A strong European policy to support Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs 2015-2020. We supported that SMEs are the engine for economic growth and jobs and are key in driving European economic recovery. We argued that the Commission should conduct a complete and holistic review of the burdens on quoted SMEs and examine overall what is appropriate and beneficial in terms of a regulatory approach for primary markets. We highlighted that we encourage the simplification of regulation for SMEs, not necessarily the creation of new regulation.
